The House of Paul

Tue Jan 16, 2007, 11:14 AM
After months of planning, anticipation, and wading through a lake of bullshit that is the real-estate industry, I'm finally moved into my new place. I'm still in the process of settling in right now. I've got lots of stuff to unpack still and a few little home-improovment projects I want to get done before I can be comfortable here. I've been gradually trickling in the last of my material posessions from my parent's basement. I've been fighting this damn cold all the while too, which sucks when you're moving, but I've had lots of friends and family willing to help out, so it's gone quite smoothly for the most part.

I don't have my studio set up yet, but I've got plans in the works. I've devoted the biggest bedroom in the house for it, so it's going to be glorious. I want to have a big, long counter there so I have room to work on a dozen different projects at once and leave all my clutter out without feeling crowded by it. I've always believed that a cluttered studio is a productive studio. I want to have a couch in there so friends can come hang out, maybe even get a little bar fridge to stash sculpey and beverages in. I'm also thinking of covering every square inch of wall and ceiling space with various fantasy-babe posters and my own artwork. That way, if my eyes should wander from the projects I'm working on, they can only wander to more inspiration.

I've been spending the last few days doing all the things I dreamed of doing once I finally got into my new place and learning a few new ones. I'll close off with a list of some of these thigns:

-Toking in my living room
-Leaving the bong on the coffee table
-Baking pot brownies
-Reading smutty Heavy Metal Magazines on the john with the door wide open
-Having sex without the fear of waking up the parents (still worried about the neighbours, though)
-Ordering adult comics to be delivered to my door
-Watching porn without the sound turned down
-Playing Dungeons and Dragons at the kitchen table

  • Mood: Happy
  • Listening to: London Beat - Thinking about you
  • Reading: George R.R. Martin - A Feast for Crows
  • Watching: Ren & Stimpy - The Lost Episodes
  • Playing: Sid Meier's Pirates
  • Eating: Pot Brownies
  • Drinking: Apple "Drink"

Paul.......what can I say? You've always had a flair for the written word. I always look forward to anything you write down. It makes me laugh every time. Maybe it's because I've known you for.....Christ!!!!....9years?....10 years?? Somewhere around there. It's cool though. Makes me happy to call you a great friend. I'm so looking forward to the day I get to see your house. Knowing you it'll be a place with great energy as soon as you step in the door!
Speaking of returning to Canada......'fraid it's going to be a while dude. After Australia, it's either Asia or South America. Haven't figured out which yet. One thing remains the same though, I'll be volunteering at an orphanage regardless. Kids are cool, when they're not crying.........
I'll be getting a laptop cpu soon. I'm going to be making about $1000 a week now until sometime in april, so I'll have money to pay off debt, cpu, and fund my adventures further. The reason I mention it is that I'll be able to work on all my photos without having to pay for it by the hour!! So I'll be getting my own "studio" too!!
Keep your head up man!! Always good to hear your thoughts!!!!
Peace and Love,
Corey

I trust that you will never cease rocking in the free world. I'm putting my studio together today. I've still got that weird eye painting and collage that you made, and I frequently use that glass pipe. I'm still in the process of settling into this place. Most of my stuff is here now and a lot of it's put away, but the energy hasn't quite arrived. Soon, though.

Stay crazy, it's good for you!

I'm glad you're using that pipe.....I actually kind of miss it now that you mention it. Send me some photos of the new place man!!
